They have an excellent and sturdy build quality that looks and feels premium enough to justify their price range. The bass on the dt1990 also extends much lower although has less impact but it feels perfect go me on the dt1990. Tuning, as i said, it's aggressive, very different from the hd6xx series. Clamping force is on the higher side and so is the weight. Certainly not when they are new. I was disarmed and was forced to take my review hat off — this piece was amazing. Before posting, please consider using the search function. I find that the best headphones out there often do not master one particular feat perfectly, lacking in the other areas. And for that I award it the majorhifi gold award. This aspect was definitely made for pros in mind who want to hear the sibilance and highs. They will easily let the ambient noise of your surroundings seep into your audio which makes their sound slightly more immersive but worse in noisy conditions. Speaking of which, Beyerdynamic headphones have never struck me as particularly dynamic — they certainly do airy, open and relatively resolving well, but bass and powerful transient impact have never been qualities I associate with Beyerdynamic.
