All jewellery is handmade with materials that are 100% natural and obtained in accordance to environmental preservation standards. Over the years she has collaborated with international artists and designers. After a decade as a textile artist, Bjørg moved to India where she was introduced to the colourful crafts and natural gemstones that inspired her shift to jewellery. Through focusing on the rare beauty of imperfections , her trademark has become her use of rough precious stones in combination with crafted metal textures. Raised in the far north of Norway beyond the arctic circle, Bjørg developed a unique attention to light and form. Bjørg is known for her use of rough and precious stones in combination with crafted metal textures.
Her collections evoke the vivid colours of endless summer, while also embracing the stark contrast of dark winters, often referencing and returning to the textures of the seaside and mountains of her childhood. Always aiming to balance the raw and the refine , there is a certain darkish , raw and organic feeling to all her work , reflecting her Nordic soul. Living in India at the time, she was introduced to the traditional craftsmanship and ancient jewellery traditions , which inspired her to start making her own one- of -a- kind jewellery. Each piece pushing the boundaries of classical jewellery, merging the past and present to create modern relics. The jewellery has been worn by artists such as David Bowie, Madonna, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Lykke Li and MØ. .
Most recently, Bjørg and Norwegian artist Bjarne Melgaard released a collaborative fine jewellery line «A casual pleasure of disappointment» which was exhibited at the Gavin Brown gallery in New York, the Astrup Fernley Museum in Oslo and the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. . . . .
