Not huge dishes, but definitely enough for us. In the winter, when you have to sit inside, we've had some bad experiences here. Some orders were completely forgotten and did not get delivered at all. The brunch comes in two servings, with all the refill you want. I really appreciate you being honest about your visit at Boulebar and I'm sad to hear we didn't reach your expectations. Despite being escorted inside by a waitress, we had to stand around for a very long time before getting seated.
Hope you will give us another chance and I´m sure we will meet up your expectations. Mind you, there were only 4 occupied tables and 4 waiters. It's just as close to the Central station and much, much nicer. The head waiter had an impressive skill where he was able to stand about a meter from us and not notice that we were trying to get his attention, but looked right through us. Getting our drinks also took a very long time. Thank you for your feedback.
They should really pay more attention if they want to make some money. As a minor sidenote, the bathrooms were very filthy and all the stalls lacked toilet paper. We had the Bourgogne, which was not up to par, when you put it up against its 590kr prince tag. Too weak and without character. Usually for a good eggs benny you want it smothered.
Michael Barone Once again we tried the Boulebar. The service was also a bit under par. We had lunch as well. There wasn't enough of it however I'm not complaining about that this time, it was good coz it was so awful. While the environment and decor is urban and lively, the food left something to be desired. The best part is the dessert section. Eggs benny with salmon had far too much salmon, too thickly cut with overcooked poached eggs and a hollandaise that was light in colour, air bubbles and lacked flavour.
The attitude we were met with varied from to sarcastic to outright rude. The often serve some sort of chicken, eggs, great bread, cheese and both fresh and pickled vegetables. I will forward all your information to our Boulebar manager. Not worth the price tag unless you have very low standards. Play a round of boule and have dinner afterwards - or vice versa. In the sunshine, in the wonderful Summer City of Malmö, it's one of the nicest hangouts there are. The fries were wonderfully crisp.
As I read my old reviews of this place it becomes clear that it's a summer place. We had a guide to give us a quick 2 min rules intro. Slight mark up for the fact that their creme brûlée was actually very nice so yeah. Great new concept in Copenhagen. For the price we paid, I would have expected higher quality food. Hi and thank you for the feedback.
The not so good aspect of the Boulebar is how it functions as a restaurant, which is rather poorly. Skip the tourist traps, the bad food and the rowdy beer swillers of Lilla Torg, turn the other way and go to Drottningtorget the Queen's square instead! The wine was, on the other hand, not that impressive. The boule lanes are right next to the tables, so it's easy to combine them. A real Frenchman wouldn't serve that wine. So good marks for the food. They were highly interested in their computer, which they were all looking at, but not at us.
The boule courses are a fun thing if you enjoy boule, but if you already know how to play it's probably a better idea to go find one of the free boule courses that are found in parks all over Malmo and have yor dinner at a nicer place beforehand. So many better Pinot noirs out there. But I must mention that we don't have buffet. I will forward it to the kitchen. The good parts about the Boulebar are the unique concept of dinner and boule, the nice outdoor seating and an unusual building. I've only been here once but will definitely return.
The bread was nice tho. It simply wasn't very tasty or imaginative. The food isn't worth the price tag. After dinner, a boule guide will teach you the rules of the game and you'll get to play a few rounds on the courses outside or indoors. .
