This region of Croatia is very beautiful and rugged and the ÖtillÖ folks created a magnificent tough course on it. Thank you all volunteers, our staff, our sponsors and of course the Town of Hvar. It all played out as we imagined except at Runmarö, our team and the Ekman brothers, Sailfish Team Bröderna Bäver, gained a few seconds gap over the second group of five teams. That meant crossing 26 islands in the Stockholm archipelago with the fastest male teams staying under 8 hours, and some of the last finishing teams crossing the line in just under 14 hours, but only 14 teams did either not finish or were cut from the race. The day before during the Sprint race the weather was stunning and the water very blue. Beautiful sun for Friday afternoon when everyone arrived and we had a good cleantheocean activity. Early on rain greeted the athletes and while this was not likely desired by most of the teams, the resulting swimming conditions favored better swimmers. At the end, when the dust had settled the Ekman brothers of Team Sailfish Bröderna Bäver managed to pull away for an impressive win. See you on Utö on May 18-19 for the next stage.
