He loves her very much and thinks Max doesn't understand how hurt he was in having to let her go and the other problems he had in his life. Ariel Truax's home is located across the street from the Goldman home occupying a large corner lot at the intersection of Hyacinth Avenue and Frank Street. John then falls into a deep depression as Max begins to court Ariel more seriously.
