But for those who want to see the cherry blossoms at their peak bloom, your best bet is to head to the park starting on Tuesday May 7. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Centre Island ferry docks. Past Bloom Dates These are the peak bloom dates that I recorded since starting this website in April 2012. The blooming period begins when 20% of the cherry blossoms are open and ends when the petals fall. The sakura trees only have the random cluster or single blossom, displaying less than 1% of blossoms on average throughout the park.
