Will not be revisiting this location I love Jazz Cat. I love sushi and when it's done right. The portion actually is perfect. I called the restaurant to find out what happened. Luckily for us, it lived up to the awesome standards presented in many of the reviews.
The rainbow roll was good as well. Once everyone of 6 arrived, we got seated right away. My favorite sauces are the ponzu if you like a citrusy sauce and Taiwanese satay for that authentic Taiwanese hot pot feels. A better response from the restaurant would for them to have called grubhub and followup on why no driver had shown up. I even ordered a side of salt and pepper chicken wings to add a bit of texture to my entire meal.
It's the same price as the regular portion The staff is friendly and attentive here. The wait wasn't too bad, and it's nice that you are able to check in on Yelp ahead of time so I definitely recommend doing that. Besides the side dishes coming out super slow, everything was fantastic! The good: the menu is plentiful. Rather, in my writing, I look to things that could be improved upon, observances of environment, taste, and truth be told subjective preferences that I believe could help the business do better. Gave 2 stars for the service but I Will be going to other hot places and this place is a one and done for me. I asked for spicy sauce and crunch on my rolls, and was obliged at no extra charge.
The rice was soggy idk if that even correctly describes it , the fish was discolored, and there was a lot of liquid running all over the place. I will definitely be back for another delicious meal. The wait wasn't bad at all, maybe 5 minutes or so. I enjoy coming to JazzCat whenever I'm in the San Gabriel Valley. At this point we had both lost our appetites and after 30 minutes someone finally switches the pots for us and it begins to cook properly. I don't mind if they increase the price but at least keep the same quality as before.
We also do pop up sushi bar and make sushi at your office party, birthday party, wedding etc. I liked that they put a sign next to my friend's seat to indicate that she was a vegetarian so they didn't make a mistake of refilling it with pork broth. Then there's sides and appetizers, drinks, and desserts to choose from. Best sushi close to the quarter! I came her to meet some friends for lunch. Overall, if you haven't gotten the Korean kimchi yet then you definitely need to try it.
Seaweed salad was not in leak proof containers and the juices were all in the bag, on condiments and other containers. Check this hidden gem out you won't regret it! Just got to deal with parking. Perhaps, yet Jazz Sushi earns every star. I chose the Japanese Spicy Miso bass, with Lamb, and ponzu sauce. There are a lot of Broth options as well as meat choices.
I love love love the golden fish balls. I tried the roll special--choice of two full sushi rolls plus miso soup, and, with Yelp check in, a free and seriously delicious cold noodle salad with a pleasant sesame flavor. Their goma sauce was not the best, but the Thai sauce and ponzu were pretty good. Their prices when up, and that's not the problem, the problem is that the quality when down. It wasn't bad but I was expecting a light sear around the edges with most of the tuna still raw and some of the pieces were cooked almost all the way through. No order is too big or too small, call us and mention Yelp for a special quote on your next order.
After they did that, it made such a huge difference. Maybe I came on an off day or ordered the wrong base, but I'm evaluating it on my experience. Other than that, I'll be back for more. They have delicious fresh sushi, great lunch specials, a nice, friendly sushi chef behind the counter. They informed me my food order had been completed 45 mins ago but there was no driver to deliver it.
I really enjoy eating the food as I'm cooking it vs other places like boiling point where it comes pre-cooked. The veggie combo was insanely huge and came with a ton of veggies the same that I got with my combo plus several types of mushrooms, bok choy, kale, etc. Just enough kick and the salt level is just perfect, making it all that more satisfying when I drank up the delicious broth at the end. It was upside down in a take out tray. The veggies is just enough for myself to finish it.
While my soup heated up quickly and took all but 5 minutes to boil, his pot would not heat up. Instead of using pork bone based soup they use water for vegetarians, just look for the green leaf symbol! Overall, I always have a great experience here. Their prices are wild cheap for fresh sushi and honestly, its noticeably more delicious Sake and other more expensive local sushi spots. We ask the waiter to switch pots and again, he tells us it's at the highest heat and we just need to wait some more. I wouldn't mind coming back! But beware, go early if you're looking for lunch or dinner especially on the weekends.
