Party hard, and take care! Ryes is a 50's themed bar on the lower side of Olaf Ryes plass. They are famous for their rum based chili drinks. The crowd is quite hip and young and the service is quick, so stop in for a couple rounds before you head in for a great concert. In the weekends they play upbeat music you can dance to. Let the trademark juicy ribs, fat burgers, crispy fried chicken, and beef brisket form the core of the meal. Enjoy oysters on the half shell, lumpfish roe, or beef tartare to start, followed by cod with aquavit spices, poached chicken, or glazed pork with black garlic as mains. Originally a cinema built in 1907, is a beloved local concert venue today and a popular bar to boot.
However, its proximity to the city center makes this a great spot for travelers to take a break too. Ingensteds and Blå are two nightclubs on Grünerløkka, by Akerselva river. Anyway on the positive side the food is quite affordable price wise, unfortunately the taste and quality don't follow. If you prefer to listen to some live tunes whilst sipping a beer, this is the place for you. Enjoy either meal at one communal 24-seat table.
