Supposedly a social imbecile and lightly retarded, he somehow is portrayed as one of the most eloquent and poignant individuals you'll ever meet. Although a different director than the other two, this adaptation of Ingvar Ambjørnsens book butchers my interest in the other films. It is much more darker than the previous film and more realistic too. No wonder it was nominated for best Foreign film in 2001. I could watch this a million times and feel so wonderful and moved every time.

Elling och Kjell-Bjarne lyckats sköta sig så bra på egen hand att stödkontakten Frank Åsli slutar besöka dem. It is at times funny but never as light-hearted as the original movie. Not being familiar with the previous movies staring this special person I stumbled into this little gem of a movie. And Elling is an impossible creature. Kurzentschlossen bucht sie daher für beide eine Pauschalreise nach Mallorca.

Two functioning lunatics are released from an asylum to be mainstreamed into society. But in doing this it loses all the charm of Elling. De besöker en stuga och umgås. More serious than the first one, so if you expect something as heartwarming as the first one, you'll just get disappointed. Their difficulties in the world are treated with respect and realism, which makes their progress bracing and their success delightful. As I said, the dialogue executed in this film is non-existent outside Norwegian theaters and unfortunately many previous Norwegian films.

Elling has lived with his mother all his life. And they are each priceless. Mors Elling has different director from its predecessor and seems like a completely different movie altogether. It is wonderfully well-acted--the characters come alive and you care about all of them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Elling is a fantasy concoction of how a mentally challenged person is. And by all means, watch it! She knows she won't be around for ever and in an effort to get him out in the world, and help him stand on his own two feet, she buys tickets for them both for a trip to sunny Spain! At first simply answering the phone or buying groceries is a struggle, but as they taste freedom, their lives become an exciting adventure. Add to this a nice plot, some very comic and also some tragic moment and it will make up the kind of film I love: you may laugh at times, you even shed the small tear at times and you feel the world is not as bad as it may seem sometimes after watching.

They both belong in the library of any film fan, but the spiritual content of Adam's Apples makes it very special indeed.

I got so attached to the characters of Elling and Kjell Bjarne and how their unlikely friendship grows. Thanks to a new social program, the two roommates are given an apartment in Oslo--if they can manage to live independently. It's got plenty to make you laugh, but I don't know if I'd call it a comedy. The best thing about this trilogy is that it hopefully is completed. After living in a state home, Elling and his best friend Kjell are given their own apartment in the center of Oslo.

Kjell-Bjarne lär känna kvinnan i lägenheten över, som gravid blivit dumpad av sin pojkvän, och de tar hand om varandra. I love this movie - it manages to be charming, realistic, and hilarious all at once. Diese jedoch noch lange nicht mit ihm. A beautiful film from a beautiful country. I think Per Christian Ellefsen's performance as Elling was pretty much the best acting I've seen in my life. It won't be easy for the two socially-impaired men, but it will turn out to be easier and nicer than they especially Elling fear.

Kjell-Bjarne och Reidun Nordsletten försöker få honom på fötter igen. But don't get me wrong, it's still a good little movie. It tells the story of Elling, living with his mom in downtown Oslo. Somehow, they both get what they want in totally outrageously hilarious ways. Per Christian Ellefsen's acting is absolutely fascinating, and everything is well put in the scenario. It was also wonderful to listen to the lovely, lilting Norwegian language, as I hadn't heard it spoken since my great grandmother lived with us many years ago. Elling deppar ihop av att bo ensam.
