As the war wages around him Robert is surrounded by danger all around him with enemies on both sides out to get him.

I do enjoy true history which this book does follow closely but of course she put her own spin on the romance. Elizabeth, disguised as a lad, was supposed to set fire to the outbuilding housing some captured Scots, but opened the door for the men to escape. Love and pain, from family who are evil and wicked. This significantly contrasts actor Chris Pine's 6-foot tall frame in the movie. If anything, he was more likely bisexual, since both he and Piers Gaveston had sexual relationships with their wives and they both had children. It's believed to be far more accurate than Chris Pine's more dashing version in the movie. Elizabeth showed strength and love through difficult times.
