Quicksand Episode 6 Recap:

People prisoners, defendants, even suspects are treated with civility and respect. The six-episode series answers the main question concerning the extent of her complicity: As the only student left alive after the shooting, did she conspire with her boyfriend who planned the attack or is she an innocent bystander? He cares way too much about his reputation. The story was compelling, the acting was absolutely amazing, and it was difficult not to feel compassion for the characters. Hugs and tears all around. Especially in relation to her boyfriend, who is portrayed equally impressively by newcomer Felix Sandman. A friend of mine runs a small production company and she was hoping to pitch her fantasy show, and the producer scoffed when someone in the audience asked him how he felt about fantasy as a genre.

Very well done by the show-writers to throw us this red herring and fool us into accepting this very obvious and likely conclusion, then completely throw us off at the end with the shocking truth. The beginning scene shows high school student Maja Norberg Hanna Ardéhn in the midst of a school shooting, yet the camera is only focused on her blood-stained face. When the audience sees Maja the summer before the tragedy, she is joyfully living out the average teenage dream with her friends and family. And really, wouldn't her parents have a bit more backbone? I watched the killing and really liked it. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Season 1 of Quicksand is a complete story, but it does seem obvious that Netflix could create more seasons with this concept. And not always in the ways they should.

Especially towards the final half of this 6-episode series, it becomes obvious that Maja Hanna Ardéhn has been under immense pressure. I am not sure what the show tried to explore, but around episode 4 it looked like it would be about how much stupidity should be forgiven when it comes to girls and not a second I thought she got anything she did not deserve. But it's also seen as Samir who comes from a poor family and is an immigrant can't see that Maja actually cares about him and is not like her best friend who only look for money and status, so when she tries to reach out to him he laches out but even later when Majas best friend Camilla finds out that Maja and Samir have slept with each other Maja automatically have to defend herself wich Samir don't understand because he is not part of how the social dynamics works when it comes to the upper class in Sweden. I liked the premise and was intrigued to find out how it all unfolded, and it kept me hooked but was ultimately disappointing. He then finds Sebastian and beats him up in front of everyone. It's a shame cuz the book was pretty decent but what I can see so far Quicksand really falls flat for me.

Addictive, touching, and horrible, but absolutely worth the watch. Basically, Quicksand is not about the exterior but rather focusing on all that lies beneath the surface. He tells us about the party the night before. Quicksand is not based on a real-life event but the story was written to reflect real-life class inequalities, which its creators saw in Sweden. Once you start watching you cant stop. In a flashback, scenes depict Maja and Sebastian spending the previous summer together on a luxurious ship in France, owned by Sebastian's father, Claes Fagerman. Samir makes his way to his seat with the use of crutches and is the only surviving witness who is in the classroom at the time.

If you come off as being better-off than someone else you might be met with some passive-agressiveness. The point of this is to tell us the story as the trial unfolds. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. At the beginning, you assume one thing, but it has a brilliant plot twist at the end at least it did for me. She Wanders Sexually as a Tid Bit of Delight making her male Counter parts just look Like They Don't cut the Bill.

The final episode of Quicksand gives us a satisfying ending, clears up the loose ends and keeps us guessing until the end. He didn't need her to be there, really, and now she'll never get those memories out of her head. Ok,so i created an account just because i want to share with you guys that this show is amazing. Given how disturbingly commonplace mass shootings have become in real life, especially in America, pop culture can have an important role in helping we as a society process how we deal with such horrific events — but it remains to be seen how this topic is treated within the context of this series. He throws extravagant parties, values popularity over genuine relationships and education. Really liked this series and I thought the acting overall was excellent.

Failure to mark spoilers, or intentionally posting spoilers will get you banned. Maja isn't seen again until she's in a Stockholm jail after being handcuffed at the hospital, suspected of a crime she may or may not have committed. A must see for fans of drama. The first season, consisting of six episodes, was released on 5 April 2019 on. I enjoyed every episode, especially the final two, in which the tension was turned way up.

Themes of teenage rage, prejudice, excess, drug use, and abuse put the viewer right in Maja's shoes as the mysterious circumstances of the fictional school shooting are slowly revealed. Overall it was okay and the acting was really good, but I probably wouldn't recommend it if there's something else to watch. If you're learning swedish as a second language in a classroom setting especially , it will take a very long time until you are even at the stage where you will speak without a foreign accent. I didn't have any high expectations given the production company and the cast, but even then this series fails to stand out from any other Scandinavian drama series. At the same time, we see her being wonderful with her younger sister, a talented student and a good friend who cares about the world she lives in. This is a tough but important show. It is after the party that Maja sends Sebastian those incriminating text messages.
