This was a truly excellent book - the writing, the plot, the characters - all just stunning. I was immediately sucked into the book and did not want to put it down. She is diagnosed with and lives with her parents while receiving treatment. Enzo knows that because of this, he has to prepare Denny to let go, so what better send-off for man's best friend than describing the full life he and his master shared? So, with all of these challenges thrown into his path, he still keeps his eyes on the road, maintains a steady hold of the wheel, and powers through. .

The way Enzo narrates is awesome. However, I I haven't given a book less than 2 stars in a very long time because normally I won't finish a book if I'm disliking it that much. My final disappointment with this book involved a little deus ex machina action that tied a little bow around the story and robbed it of any emotional truth it had held for me up to that point. The charges are then dropped and Denny wins full custody of his daughter. Some examples could be when deaths happen or when family members become dangerously ill. Minor supporting characters have positive ethnic representations.
