The main restaurant is a buffet-style affair or you can indulge in gastronomic delights in the a la carte dining venues. Please do not hesitate to contact us before your arrival. Service, food, quality, all inclusive drinks, accommodation, location, pools, snorkelling, staff all excellent. Taking a look at Red Sea Coast's beaches and coastal plains should be enough to keep you busy. Guests can arrange to go diving, windsurfing, sailing and more with the help of operators at the beach. There was a lot of maintenance going on outside the hotel but they do need to address the missing mosaic pool tiles. Rather surprisingly, the actual spa is under construction as of summer 2019.

Many thanks to Ayman our room boy was very good and we look forward to going back next year. Students, families and those watching their dollars can select from some nice Hurghada hotel and apartment options that won't that won't make the bank manager's jaw drop. That could be improved upon. There was also no dressing table and limited number of clothes hangars. For example, at the ice cream parlor, some flavors are free and others are not.

The hotel spotlessly clean and well maintained. Meanwhile, the resort features a variety of sporting facilities, including tennis. The property stretches out toward the sea, with multiple outdoor pools — including an infinity pool -- poolside dining, and palm trees and other tropical plants adding color to the resort landscape. From international buffets to four-course, a la carte dining, there's a wide choice of food on offer. Unfortunately, in-room Wi-Fi requires a fee.

Daytimes focus on doing as much or as little as you wish. Excellent amenities include furnished balconies or terraces with either pool, sea, or garden views. A range of on-site facilities are complemented by tasty culinary experiences and stylish guest suites. The alcoholic drinks were not great and the wine seemed to be watered down. Only thing that would make it a little better would be some evening entertainment, but as guests of the Makadi Spa, we were allowed to use the facilities of the Makadi Grand, the Makadi Palace and the Sunwing Waterworld including eating and all inclusive drinks , so it wasn't too far to walk for some evening entertainment.

The majority of guests tend to be older, retired couples of German, British or Eastern European nationality. Last year it was not an issue but this year so much more noticeable. To begin with, guests have access to luxurious swimming pool heated in winter , a gym and a wide array of restaurants, bars and lounges. Activities abound both on resort grounds and at the beach. We were given an upgraded room on arrival for 3 days, which I suspect was due to the Thomas Cook situation, and the fact we arrived 3 days later than originally booked. On top of all this, you have easy access to the beach where you can enjoy snorkelling and sunbathing.

There are some nice places to stay not far from the terminal, such as the Sol Y Mar Ivory Suites and the Rivoli Suites. Local and international dishes are served buffet style in the main restaurant. Ruins and old towns are up there with the best. We particularly enjoyed the Eygptian restaurant La Pasha, and the entertainment there. Windsurfing, water skiing, sailing and parasailing are all popular here. Only 30 km away from Hurghada Airport, the resort is easy to access — but admittedly difficult to leave. It was interesting that some of the other hotels on the complex did not seem to have tiles missing.

Guests can also access the larger, sandier private beaches of the other Makadi properties and snorkel at the reef near The Grand Makadi Hotel, about a 10-minute walk away. There are three pools in total, including two infinity ones. Soak up the sunshine by the main pool or admire the views from the infinity pool. Walking into the lobby was fantastic - so grand and elegant. These are some popular hotel options. Non-smoking rooms can be arranged on request. While the pools are attractive and surrounded by ample umbrella-shaded loungers and greenery, several guests report broken or loose tiles.

Enjoy a hot stone massage in the spa or up the tempo with a game of tennis. Our favourite being La Pasha and the fish. Makadi Sports Centre features: fitness club, football pitch, tennis courts, and sports bar. A la carte restaurant options include steak, fish, Asian, fusion, and Spanish. Recently opened, it focuses firmly on all aspects of wellness, with its accommodation,and dining tailored specifically to the needs of the most discerning of its adult-only clientele. Probably, as long as standards do not slip any further which we felt they had compared to last year.
