There are several good restaurants in nearby Boundary Road, too. Please read other reviews for a true idea of The New Inn. A lady came to ask if we wanted tea or coffee, came back with it, then returned almost straight away with the breakfast, she then went straight over to the door and continued to clean it with brasso!!! Would be interested in hearing from anybody who remembers us. The mini-chain, which originated in Whitechapel, has spawned many inferior imitations with 'Lahore' in their name, but this is the real deal. Savoy trained owner Nick Tyrie, carefully selected a high quality range of wines, premium spirits and international beers to compliment his top end gastro brasserie food whilst also offering a delicious range of freshly prepared worldly tapas bar snacks. In fact, it was just a cap, half red, half blue with a red peak. The main thing about the New Inn is the staff who are just excellent.
My Mum was the final member of the family to be found living in St Johns Wood until she passed away in 2000. We were all hopping around and laughing, but the greatest amusement was being had by the airmen. One December, we visited there for some carol singing. Well, someone had to take the picture! Overall we would definitely choose to stay at the New Inn again if we're in the area. We have continued to go back to the pub since we moved elsewhere in the city, and hope to be loyal customers for as long as we are here.
. The Royal Park Hotel is only 0. My brother Derek arrived in the early Thirties. It is a pub with rooms, but a very nice one, and the food is fine. .
We like their 'eat first, diet later' mantra. The New Inn does not serve breakfast, although I was told I could get brunch at 11. We stayed for one night at the New Inn after doing a French Bread Baking Course with Bake with Maria in nearby Swiss Cottage. Staff is excellent and you have Gin and Fizzy as resident doggies of the premises. Another to Consider: A similar hotel nearby 0. We had the chance to stay here for 10 nights when we first moved to London this summer while we were searching for permanent housing. .
Really its a fab pub with a few rooms on the side that comes across as a second priority. There was no door handle on the bathroom door, the chain on the inside of the main room door was broken, the bathroom window was cracked and there was a cigarette burn in the duvet cover. It doesn't exist any more, the Pub in the Inn only opens at 11 am. The smart venue is most renowned for its patisserie, but it also serves a wide selection of pastas, pizzas, risottos, salads, meat and fish dishes, and sandwiches. Nick and his staff were incredible, whether it was storing our extra luggage downstairs, providing us with excellent breakfasts and other meals along the way, and also having excellent accommodations with their new renovations. Across the other side of Lord's, the 40-plus year old is London's oldest Spanish restaurant and tapas bar. She would hold a number of wafers in her hand with the large tin box of wafers on the floor by the dog.
We had Gin Tonic instead, in plastic Cups. I attended Barrow Hill primary school and later, Kynaston in Finchley Road. So atmosphere was lacking slighty. We even had the picture published in a football magazine, but the editor wanted to know why we only had ten players. My best friend at the time, Herbie Lord, lived one floor up, I believe he was your cousin.
Don't waste your money on the food here, we went with 3 friends for dinner and it was very disappointing. Nearby the Pakistani restaurant is also long-established by now this doesn't surprise you, right? Top 3 star hotel is at 88%. This again made us think the New Inn is worth the little bit of extra money we were paying. The New Inn has a range of Green-King Ales and a comprehensive selection of wines, again not cheap, but given the location probably appropriately priced. I will never return and I would advise anyone who wants good food and a good night's sleep to do the same.
We stayed there last week and liked it so much we went back this week. You can watch tv in one part, you can dine in another or as we did, enjoy a bottle of wine nibbling on cheese and olives whilst listening to live music. The pub serves fine English ales, international beers and excellent wines and spirits. One present I had was a watercolour painting set that I kept for many years, unfortunately it was mislaid when I moved home, echoes of Rosebud perhaps. Our room was spotlessly clean and had complimentary tea and coffee and sweets and everything you need for a short stay including a fan that would be welcome on a hot day. It serves wines, champagnes and craft beers — but try one of the many wonderful, great-value cocktails from their ex-Savoy mixologist. We were going to a musical in Regents Park Open Air theatre so The New Inns was a good location, also excellent for going to Lords Cricket.
I have often wondered over the years whatever happened to him, perhaps if you are still in contact with the family you could let me know. Regular cask ales This pub serves 3 regular beers. One of the reasons probably is, that even in summer, the heating tubes are heated and very hot, so even if the Radiators are off, the tubes heat up the rooms. You'll find lots of cheeses, breads, chocolates, cakes, drinks, and organic and kosher products here. There was very loud music thumping until the early hours which added to a poor nights sleep. Mr Rogers ran the off-licence which when entering always seemed to be empty, so empty that there was an echo. Sadly Herbie had a seizure or stroke in 1969 at the age of 16 and was never the same again.
We recently stayed at the New Inn and it has varied good and bad points. Nice location too and very close to St. We have terror threats going on but someone has the gall to waste police time and cause someone upset. It would be wrong to call it a shop as it had no windows or lighting and, with the absence of any shelving, produce was scattered all around the floor. So, needless to say, the locals would all go home and rub out the pencil marks.
