Joining the two crime dramas on Sundance Now are two romantic comedies: Couple Trouble HĂ„nd i HĂ„nd from Denmark and Idiomatic JĂ€ttekiva from Finland. One day during an investigation into a murder committed at the Christmas fair, a detective gets evidence that a famous American serial killer is involved in the crime. The two series that headline this pan-territory deal are the Scandi noir crime thriller Wisting and the English-language The Gulf, a German-New Zealand co-production. The Gulf centers around the moral disintegration of Detective Jess Savage, who finds herself caught between upholding the legal justice system, and morality, as she investigates crimes on her home patch of Waiheke Island, New Zealand. In the center of the plot of the series, based on the detective novels of Jorn Horst, is William Wisting - a meticulous and ambitious police officer who is engaged in hunting for the most famous criminals in Norway.
Rounding out the deal is the French ratings hit The Red Shadows Les Ombres Rouges. . And Series 1 and 2 of Idiomatic, produced by Zodiak Finland for Elisa Viihde, follow the life and times of an urban, bilingual, environmentally-conscious, left-wing couple in their thirties. The 10-part production follows homicide detective William Wisting as he wrestles with the most challenging and shocking case of his career: a wanted American serial killer living in Norway. Produced by H2O Fictions and Gétévé Productions for C8, the six-part drama tells the story of a young woman who uncovers her mysterious past and meets a family she never knew she had. For Whisting, it becomes a matter of honor to arrest an elusive psychopath, but large-scale investigative measures do not bring results.
