Excellent view of the Oslo parliament building. I booked this hotel on Travelocity because it was advertised as wheelchair accessible with a roll in shower. The maximum number of extra beds in a room is 1. Not sure if that will change once construction is done or not.
It is nestled in the center of Oslo with direct proximity to Oslo City Hall, which is 300 meters away. No onsite parking is available. If you are a full time wheelchair user, find another place to stay. Impenetrable safe, but never mind. Service Everyone I encountered in the hotel and in most of Norway for that matter spoke English very well. The maximum number of cribs in a room is 1. In a city like Oslo where everything is expensive, it is great to start the day with a solid breakfast.
Dear guest Thanks for your review. We are very found of guest feedback, as we do use information that guest reviews provides us actively in our work to further improve and develop our hotel. Another issue I had again it's structural, so little that can be done to improve it. Some of my favorite items include the fresh squeeze orange juice machine and the eight varieties of home made jams. Note that not all of the express trains go to National Theater.
A cash deposit, credit card, or debit card for incidental charges and government-issued photo identification are required upon check-in. The duvet cover; we have at present time never recieved feedback that they are too warm, but we assure you that we will definitly look into the matter. We reccomend everyone to pay even small buys with card. The lobby is small but recently updated. Breakfast was even better with more options and we were spoiled for choice with fresh orange juice, great coffee, all the usual hot and cold dishes plus unusual dishes like roasted cauliflower and kale, freshly baked liver pâté, Norwegian brown cheeses, herring, salmon and smoked fish roe, all with freshly baked breads.
Overall I would strongly suggest the Thon Hotel Cecil for a visit to Oslo. Some of the airport trains stop at Central Station. Additional fees are not calculated automatically in the total cost and will have to be paid for separately during your stay. I arrived at that time and my room was ready. On day two they provided a metal ramp to bridge that height difference. Charges for extra guests may apply and vary according to property policy.

The double duvets are actually twice as wide as the look in the photo as they are folded over. Flat-screen televisions come with digital channels. Nearby points of interest include a gallery, a theater and a palace. Thon Hotel Cecil Oslo — Review There are very few chain hotels in Norway. Breakfast Breakfast is also included for all guests. The main two are Raddison and Thon Hotels. The shower has no door, just a half glass wall divider. Check In Check in starts at 3pm. I like my pancakes warmed traditionally they are cold in Norway and the cook was happy to warm them up for me. . From the National Theater station, it is a 5 minute walk to the hotel.
Lounge On the 7th floor there is a Lounge that currently appears to be open to all guests. The rest of the room is next to the bathroom. The staff said that the hotel might do some renovations in the fall. Special requests cannot be guaranteed. Friendly helpful efficient staff, fast elevators, terrific breakfast, complimentary evening meal. Business travelers can take advantage of the laundry service.
They did not collect used cups and glasses very often either. I would say that overall the staff is more casual than in some high end hotels but they were extremely helpful and warm. I would do a little research about room types before booking if an outside view is crucial to you. The double bed is quite comfortable. Overall the bed is different than I have experienced but a nice Scandinavian set up. Enjoy the 24-hour fitness center and conveniences like a 24-hour front desk and laundry facilities.
