Thon Hotel Kirkenes is a new and modern hotel located by the sea in Kirkenes. Rooms were comfortable with effective blackout curtains. In and nearby Kirkenes there is a wealth of activities and nature adventures: King crab safari, snow scooter safari, dog sledge tours and fishing in the border river Jakobselva or in the fjord are just some of the things you can do. Special requests are subject to availability upon check-in and may incur additional charges. We thought we would take a taxi from the airport to the hotel but that required pre-arrangement. Thon Hotel Kirkenes is located right on the quay in Kirkenes town centre, and is also a short distance away from the quay of Hurtigruten - The Norwegian Coastal Voyage. Thon Hotel Kirkenes opened May 3rd 2010, and is located at the wharf in the centre of the town. We can accommodate up to 400 guests. The maximum number of extra beds in a room is 1. There is convenient transportation from the airport. The hotel is situated by the wharf in the centre of Kirkenes. Such a huge selection of very fresh food, awesome juices and an endless top up of coffee by the wonderful waitress. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and that you got early check in.

A beer on the restaurant terrace in the midnight sun, or under the Aurora in the dark season can be recommended We arrived in Kirkenes two days before embarking on a Hurtigruten cruise to the south. We had dinner at a local pizza place which also turned out to be a really nice experience lovely staff great food, very comfortable. Great hotel, just a stopover for us off a Hurtigruten cruise. We offer a professional meeting place with a conference hall, group rooms, top modern equipment and conference hosts at your service. What a surprise to experience such a great hotel here in Kirkenes.

Room service, electric kettles, and hair dryers are among the other amenities available to guests. A beer on the restaurant terrace in the midnight sun, or under the Aurora in the dark season can be recommended …. The breakfast which is included in the room charge was amazing! Instead, we hopped a bus that was there to pick up anybody who wanted transportation into town. Government-issued photo identification and a credit card, debit card, or cash deposit are required at check-in for incidental charges. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed the hotel and that you got early check in.

All this you get with the midnight sun, or with the polar night and northern lights as the backdrop in the exotic landscape of Eastern Finnmark. Other amenities include a conference center, a business center, and dry cleaning. Please remove some items and try saving again. Breakfast is convenient, with a good selection of hot and cold dishes, drinks and cereals.

Our room 438 was very clean and comfortable with wonderful views over the fjord. Breakfast is convenient, with a good selection of hot and cold dishes, drinks and cereals. For starters we were off the ship quite early and there was no problem getting straight to our room which is quite unusual, most check-in is 2 to 3 pm, we were in our room by 10 am which was fabulous and much appreciated. We were in room 418. Your Trip has too many items in it. Out in the middle of nowhere close to the sea you get this really nice hotel that for some reason only has a 3 star rating although I would give it much more than that.

Kirkenes is a small town, but it is always something to explore and the history in this region is special and very interesting. Since we were tired, that counted for a lot! Thank you so much for lovely feedback. Everybody on staff was helpful and spoke very good English. The room was lovely one of the best views ever looking out right on the waterfront spectacular. The hotel has 144 rooms, a restaurant and bar with an outdoor setting by the quay. Staff will top up your coffee at the table which is always a nice gesture.
