In order to build on the success of the recorder, the shooting of a whole series of successors will start in August 2017. Neben Stephen Lang wird voraussichtlich auch Sigourney Weaver im zweiten Teil wieder mit von der Partie sein. . As main character Sam Worthington declares, the successors revolve around the young family of the mercenary Jake Sully and the extraterrestrial warrior Neytiri Zoe Saldana. Next to Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver is expected to be back in the second part. Geplant ist eine Saga mit insgesamt vier neuen Filmen.

Um an den Rekorderfolg anzuknüpfen, sollen im August 2017 nun die Dreharbeiten für eine ganze Reihe von Nachfolgern beginnen. Wie Hauptdarsteller Sam Worthington erklärt, drehen sich die Nachfolger inhaltlich um die junge Familie des Söldners Jake Sully und der außerirdischen Kriegerin Neytiri Zoe Saldana. A saga with a total of four new films is planned. Obwohl der Film als Teil einer Saga gedacht ist, handelt es sich trotzdem um ein abgeschlossenes Werk, das die abenteurliche Mythenwelt von Pandora erkundet. Although the film is conceived as part of a saga, it is nevertheless a completed work exploring the adventurous mystic world of Pandora.
