I wanted this for F150. In that regard I can say that tis tool has answered all that has been asked of it. That is one superior tool. The saw has only bogged down twice. I was looking for a smooth action light weight cutting tool with plenty of power.
I tried using it to carve a slot in a stripped screw head and the blade was worn down flat in 5sec. I am very happy with this saw, I expect it to last me a decade like my old one did. For my task of trimming tree limbs, this works quite well. I use it when I go fishing. It's compact so it is easy to position to throw maximum light on the work, holds the set angle without drooping, and the battery life is impressive for the illumination it puts out. I needed a lighter yet powerful drill and read reviews on this Bosch.
So - great tool if you're not looking to. I received this tool earlier this month. Edit: I've amended my review after having some trouble with the keyless chuck on the drill. If you have to pay more, I would bump this review down to three stars. I thought this was the only. This is a bright and handy little light at a price that seems reasonable.
I am not really sure if this is a systemic problem with all keyless chucks, or just this one--I don't have a great deal of experience. I've since switched to a 4ah battery and I haven't killed it yet. Okay so it's not a massive powerhouse wormdrive cut through re-bar saw. I have always purchased DeWalt in the past and still use them. Having the separate driver and drill is a huge time-saver when you're working on a pocket-hole project, for instance. Those that I ordered are too long, apparently for another portable band saw. For a small powerful drill it is easy to hold, manage and get the job done.
They were good reviews so I took a chance on it and bought it. One thing Bosch did differently and better with this model is true one-handed blade insertion. I also purchased, from Amazaon, a pack of Milwaukee 9 inch blades specifically for trimming tree limbs. This one has all the power of the older one while weighing quite a bit less and being far more compact. I purchased the carbide semi circle blade with the gold edge and it's still going strong.
I just used it to finish my basement, cutting both paneling and 2x4s along with 2 metal studs. Thus, I can use the batteries on this saw as well. I took several posters' advice and never even installed the included Bosch blade - I went straight to the Diablo blade, I've learned they are simply better. I have been a Bosch purchaser for over a decade now. It's done everything I've asked it to without bogging down or quitting.
Once, the battery was dead, and the other time I managed to not notice that I was crimping. I'm so happy I did. My only complaint is that the supplied case doesn't fit the light when a battery is attached. It doesn't grip small drill bits very well at all--you definitely need to get some hex-shank bits in the smaller sizes. I would be surprised if we don't see some legal actions taking place in the future in regard to these ratings. As other reviewers have stated, there is no way this thing comes close to 500 foot pounds of torque.
I've also used it for decks and other shed and storage container work. But hopefully this is helpful to someone. Thanks to the people who had already reviewed this item, I knew to expect only about 250 ft-lbs of torque prior to making my purchase. I have been in the trades for 33 years and I love this drill and so will you. I had the older version of this saw which used the NiCad blue packs.
