Industrial management studies provide students with a diverse knowledge of industrial processes such as business economics and supply chains. Academics Savonia offers 30 degree programs in 6 fields of study. It offers education in six different fields in four campuses, two in Kuopio, one in Varkaus and one in Iisalmi. That is why these are the main content of the programme during the first and second years of the studies, and they provide a strong basis for the professional competences in Mechanical Engineering. The master's degree programmes are very heavily oriented to the needs of the working life - you can study the whole degree in two years while working, in fact it is even encouraged. To meet the applying qualifications, you are required to accumulate three years worth of work experience after your bachelor's degree. It offers workplace-focused, cooperative degree courses. In 1998 it received permanent status by the Finnish Government. You can also take part of your studies abroad. Graduates can work as chartered professional engineers throughout Europe. We have several English Degree Programs, and in every study field, there are English courses offered for exchange students.
Kajaani University of Applied Sciences is a small university of applied sciences located in the town of Kajaani. Our organization of experts educates strong professionals in six different fields of study. The rector serves in a dual role, as he is also director of the owner consortium of municipalities. The multidisciplinary and international campus, the school for health professionals, has an active role in the development of the private and public sector organisations in the area. The qualifications are equivalent to those attained at a university.
The translation must be signed and stamped by the authorized translator. To qualify for the scholarship after the first academic year, students must earn at least 55 credits of studies detailed in their personal study plan per academic year. The consortium council selects a consortium board 2005-2008 , which has nine members. The courses with a blue background are compulsory degree studies. Savonia does close collaboration in research and development with a lot of companies in the surrounding area and the instruction methods are work life oriented. There are still just two other programmes in Finland having the same status.
In all assignment, you are expected to use proven knowledge and apply the theory you learned into practice. Engineering skills, including working life skills, are learned via projects. This co-operation includes strengthening research, education and innovation activities. The decision in June 2007 to move Savonia's operations in Kuopio to the University of Kuopio campus in Savilahti is a cornerstone for future co-operation. Engineers need good basic skills and knowledge in mathematics and natural sciences, as well as in product design and development and manufacturing technology.
