Today I noticed that the switch that opens the trunk does not work anymore, the key fob still opens it??? Get to know it and all the various sensor reading outputs and you'll know a lot more about your car than you did before. I am a little hesitant on disconnecting battery. Went to dealer today and bought a switch and replaced right there, with no change. And I will let you know if it worked. I'd still like to meet up with some of you greaseheads sometime, talk diesel, make fun of gassers, etc. So Thanks again for all your help!!! If that worked, you really might try disconnecting the battery for 20 mins. ? This morning I tryed to roll it up, it came up!!! What fun things can I do with this expensive paperweight on my 2006 5-spd Jetta? Its sucks driving to work at 3am on the freeway with the driverside window down, I think i messed up my ear already.
Have fun but be carefull. Thanks If it's a stupid electrical glitch, try disconnecting the battery for 20 mins. Get all kinds of data for trouble shooting problems. Should I just disconnect the ground on the Battery, for 20 min. . I just want to rool it up and keep it up, until I have time to go to dealer. Resetting all the sensors in all the windows couldn't be a bad thing.
You can also change the way the car unlocks by eliminating the second button push to unlock all doors and if you still have the goofy speedo error that was eliminated in 2007 you can recode it to eliminate the high error. That sucks -- that was half the reason I got it to help me align my timing belt. If that worked, you really might try disconnecting the battery for 20 mins. Or Is there a a cheaper place to buy a window motor online??? We will find out tommorow. Holding the lock button on remote will not roll it up, nor roll any windows down. Also, be prepared for the one-touch not to work when you first try it after resetting the battery. I got a Bling Bling stereo in there now and I really don't want to mess it up.
Resetting all the sensors in all the windows couldn't be a bad thing. Re-connect it and try the window again. Maybe I could do it myself. I'm going to have one in a day or two. The buttons on the driver side door works fine for all other windows, but the driver side window.
You want this to be at 0, or perfectly in time. The window rolls up and down, then sometimes cuts out. I know this process resets the sensors, perhaps one screwed up. I was all bundled up ready for a cold drive to work. You want this to be at 0, or perfectly in time. Won't hurt anything and would be quicker than pulling the door card and unplugging the motor and waiting for 20 minutes.
I should add my name, I keep forgetting. So this thing pretty much just lets me change my keyfob behavior and that's it? Thank You Very Much For your Time!!!!!!! I will have to invest. Everything works inside door lights, door locks, light under mirror, turn light on mirror but the window, no noise nothing. I'm not any kind of electrical engineer, but the little bit I do know about CanBus networks what I heard sounds reasonable. Holding the door lock on lock with key will not roll window up, nor holding it to unlock, roll any windows down. So if you could tell me its really safe then I will try it. I will look into the connectors, when I get time.
Get to know it and all the various sensor reading outputs and you'll know a lot more about your car than you did before. For grins I plugged in the old motor and it worked. And so on and so forth. I dont know if its related? And call the dealer to see how much is a new window motor. The reason I am hesitant about disconnecting the battery, is that I did that to an older car and messed up my new stereo display, had to send it in and get it repaired, they said it was from voltage spikes from disconnecting the battery.
It will roll each window down one at a time and reset all the window units. I used Vag Com and ran a test on the drivers side door. Then one touch will start working again and you'll be able to roll multiple windows down again. You can make your windows and sunroof open and close with the key fob and if you loose a key you can recode it without a dealer services. Going back to dealer, I am getting ready to get raped With a swift bang of the door fixing it temporarily, I would focus on the connector to the switch and motor.
I was recommend to go there to get my problem check out by a co worker Jimmy The Leg!! I should add my name, I keep forgetting. Any help would be great, and yes I did a search, I dont have time to take a good look. Its goes up and down fine, but I did not roll it all the way down for fear of not getting it back up. Oh it can do much more. If nothing found there, would try replacing the motor, as maybe a contact might have broken internally. .
