Combine episodes 1 and 2 into episode 1. Das Boot is considered by many one of the best war films ever made. So basically: The movie follows a war correspondent down into a German U boat during the Second World War. This can lead to conflict within the crew. In general subsequent versions, re-edited, remastered, re-released etc should be listed in the Alternate Versions section of the original title.
Honestly, I am not sure if this should exist anyway because it is the famous German 1981 movie packed into 3 episodes for television. I will agree with those who say that having two parallel storylines on the land and on the submarine might not have been the smartest decision because it splits the attention of the viewer and most will find themselves wishing that the show would switch back to the other storyline, depending on their preference. Don't be fooled by the people saying that this is a soap opera. Haha awww : I honestly think, through all your commentating during this film, it rly was very good. I personally would have gone for a more classical score, but that's just me.
I will let you know the status once I hear back from them. Taking a closer look it appears that another user has updated the series by adding three new episodes and then re-titling every episode of the series. I, for one, really enjoyed both storylines, however, and thought that they were well-balanced. Defs deserves to be on the list! I'm not quite sure how to sum up how I feel about the show because there's a lot of heavy stuff in it. More than with any other show I've watched in recent memory, it felt very mature and adult in its content and themes.
I'd be surprised if anyone called this a soap opera after having watched it all through to the end. I then combined the running times to give the correct total for each. It is a noisy environment, and it can lead to conflict within the crew, but also the crew are also close and have to be because they depend on each other. You are correct in that we should list the title as originally aired. If anything, I'd call the conflict solving on this show brutal. He shows the claustrophobic environment of what a U-Boat would have been like.
But now, I am in no condition to fuck! The second half of the film would have sufficed as an entire movie. The beards also grow exponentially ; The acting is a bit stilted in the beginning and the writing a bit forced especially the parts with the vulgar dialogue but this improves as the show goes on and by the end I had a great appreciation for the large cast yes, the characters are a bit indistinguishable at first but you'd be hard-pressed not to be able to tell the difference after a few episodes. Their personalities are pushed to the limit as tensions rise and loyalties begin to shatter. Das Boot is clearly Wolfgang Petersen best work. Because sanity is for the weak.
I have also removed the release dates that referred to the later 6 episodes release. Whilst when the U-Boat does find a convoy it can be a massive struggle between life and death for the whole crew. He also showed his skill with action. Now on to the review: The show is well-produced. In the first half of the season, I enjoyed the resistance storyline more and in the second half, I enjoyed the submarine storyline more, but both managed to add up to a bigger picture in the end. Das Boot has a very 80s score to it, using modern instruments, which surprisingly works, adding to the imagines. One last thing: I watched the show without a dub and really enjoyed the realism of having the characters speak in the languages they would have realistically communicated in in their respective situations.
This movie is pressure gauges and binoculars and getting splashed on the bridge. I have reverted the series to reflect the 3 part version and tried to ensure that the appropriate security measures are in place to stop this happening again. Thanks you for bringing this to our attention. The series was then seemingly cut into 6 episodes, however this version did not contain new footage and therefore should be listed as an Alternative Version of the 3 part series. There are personal conflicts, of course, but none of them resolve in a remotely cheesy way. It starts off with young 17 year old to 25 year old who have been filled with propaganda about the war effort and glorious battle.
He does not villainize either the British or German navies, or the people who fought in the war. If you know the correct release dates we would really appreciate if you could update this through the site. War movies have been biases to one side or the other. After this young crew of immature sailors start to experience the true horrors of war, you can not only see, but experience with them the boredom, laughter, camaraderie, team work and death. This a conflict where they are long moments of boredom in a close environment.
